Heidelberg Re-Elected Oil & Gas Vice-Chair

The Mississippi State Oil & Gas Board recently re-elected Gulf Coast attorney Jimmy Heidelberg as its Vice Chair. Heidelberg will continue to represent the Mississippi State Oil & Gas Board before the Mississippi Legislature and serve as liaison with state agencies – including the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).

“Mississippi’s oil and gas sector has been rated number one in the world for investment and this could not have been achieved without pro business legislation and leadership from people like Jimmy Heidelberg,” said Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant. “Like myself, Jimmy understands the balance needed for a sensible forward-thinking energy policy and regulatory climate. I’m gratified to hear of Jimmy’s election as Vice Chairman and know that he will continue to serve the people of Mississippi well in this capacity.”

The Fraser Institute recently ranked Mississippi as the world’s most attractive spot for oil and gas investment. The Fraser Institute is an independent public policy research and education organization headquartered in Canada with a global network of 75 think tanks.
