Heidelberg, Steinberger, Colmer & Burrow successfully settled a complex lawsuit on behalf of over two hundred local homeowners whose property was flooded after Hurricane Georges. This case was litigated for nearly ten years and the jurisdictional basis of the case was appealed to the United States Supreme Court. Heidelberg Steinberger attorneys were able to establish that the proper jurisdiction in which to litigate the matter was the Chancery Court of Jackson County, Mississippi, despite the fact that the defendant was a governmental entity of the state of Alabama. After obtaining numerous favorable court rulings during the course of the litigation, Heidelberg Steinberger attorneys were able to successfully settle the litigation shortly prior trial.
